Meet Dr. Alexis Ghanem

Oral Surgeon

Oral surgery has been Dr. Alex Ghanem’s passion for the last 25 years. He believes in providing gentle, quick and painless surgical care to patients of all ages. He employs excellent surgical skills towards a wide range of oral and maxillofacial procedures, from single complex wisdom tooth extractions to full mouth smile reconstructions on implants (“hybrids”). He holds a sedation license as well as both Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificates.

Dr. Ghanem came to Rochester in 2011, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester. Before that, Dr. Ghanem received his dental degree from the Central University of Venezuela, where he also served for 10 years as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Surgery. Dr Ghanem enjoys keeping abreast of innovative surgical techniques and materials through continuing education. He lectures to various dental organizations nationally and internationally and he is member of the American Dental Association, New York Dental Association, Seventh District Society, and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
