Meet Dr. Garrison Copeland
Dr. Garrison Copeland believes that self-confidence and a beautiful smile go hand in hand. Born with a severe overbite and misaligned teeth, Dr. Copeland understands firsthand the challenges faced by those with a similar circumstance. Using his own life experience as motivation, he pursued a career in orthodontics to provide exceptional care for every patient he has the privilege to serve at Garrison Orthodontics.
Dr. Copeland earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Howard University in Washington, DC and upon graduating was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. That propelled him to continue and complete post-graduate orthodontic training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Copeland began his orthodontic career in 2010. As an associate and then partner, he worked with his childhood orthodontist for seven years and was responsible for helping more than 3,000 patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. In 2018, he chose to continue his training at BronxCare Health Systems, where he focused on cosmetic dentistry and full mouth reconstruction and was honored to be named chief resident of the class of 2020.
In March 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to rapidly spread both nationally and globally, Dr. Copeland felt a strong call to duty and service. Considering it both an honor and an obligation, he volunteered in the hospital’s Family Medicine Department to assist COVID-19+ patients with treatment and recovery.
Since 2020 Dr. Copeland has continued to practice as an orthodontist. He recently built Garrison Orthodontics which is a chic, upscale, patient-centered practice with advanced technology. And it’s modeled around his core value which is to help as many people smile as possible.
