Transferring and positioning our clients
As caregivers, part of our job includes transferring and positioning our clients. We are trained to move and place our clients in the right posture position to enhance safety, health, and proper functioning of the body systems. When done correctly, transferring and positioning from and into chairs and beds reduces stiffening and weakening of muscles, eliminates pressure areas on the skin, and enhances respiration, digestion, and elimination.
“Our most sincere compliments to Irish Help at Home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care you and your staff provided for our mother. We will be in touch again in future should she need any more care.”
Sincerely, Joan and Elaine Dressler
Mobility and Homecare Services
Many times, the mobility of the client is hindered by chronic ailments, injuries, and illnesses. So, it is the duty of comfort givers to help ensure that movement is regained as fast as possible and maintained to the highest degree possible. In addition to transferring and positioning duties, caregivers provide other at-home care services to help and increase and maintain movement for our clients, such as mobility assistance and companionship services, such as shopping and walks to the park for exercise and fitness. Many clients with injuries or illnesses are reluctant to move out of their comfort zone, such as a certain room in the house, outside the home, or up or down the stairs for uncertainty of their safety. Caregivers alleviate this fear by offering part-time or full-time assistance, giving them peace of mind in knowing that someone is ready to lend them a hand when the need arises.
Enhancing Movement
Mobility is a critical factor in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Even basic mobility, such as the capacity to move about your home, has a big impact on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the client.
Irish Help at Home has been providing high quality in home care and assistance to the area since 1996.
