Meet Dr. Richard Mansour
Dr Richard Mansour, HBSc., DMD, ABGD, MSMS, CD Principal Dentist
Dr. Mansour graduated from the University of Manitoba school of Dentistry in 1999. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces shortly thereafter. During his military career he served in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Quebec City, Petawawa, Ottawa and Afghanistan. He completed a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2010 with the US Army in Fort Hood, Texas. In 2011 he became Board Certified with the American Board of General Dentistry. In 2017 he was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal by our former Governor General, the Right Honourable David Johnston, at Rideau Hall for his work in Afghanistan that led to the international recognition of the formation of the Afghan Dental Association.
Dr Mansour retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 2019 after 20 years of Regular Force service.
Dr. Mansour , DMD, ABGD, ABDSM Diplomate has been actively involved in both Dental Sleep Medicine and TMJ management since 2001. Dr. Mansour is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. The ABDSM Diplomate designation is the highest credential a dentist can earn in dental sleep medicine, indicating competency in dental sleep medicine through rigorous written examination and demonstration of extensive clinical experience.
Currently, there are less than 100 Dental Sleep Medicine Qualified and Diplomates in Canada. Thankfully, more Dentists are coming into the field of dental sleep medicine to address this significant health crisis.
He, his wife Trina, and his children proudly call the Ottawa Valley home. Outside of clinical life, you can find them cycling, golfing, enjoying the Ottawa River, cheering on the kiddos in minor hockey, soccer, baseball, and community arts programs, supporting Mental Health and Cancer Research fundraising and hosting family and friends with all the Ottawa Valley has to offer.
